Cru Campus Ministry
My name is Ryan Taylor. I am 23 years old and a graduate of the University of Missouri. During college I was involved in a ministry called Campus Crusade for Christ and through that was called to be a campus missionary. This blog is to tell about my life, calling, and ministry as well as to keep those who are passionate about missions up to date on what the Lord is using us to do on the college campus. Thanks for visiting!

My calling and My need
As I said in my previous letter, I have been accepted to go on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ and become a missionary on Mizzou’s campus as well as a couple other campuses in the surrounding area. I am excited to report to my assignment and I truly believe that this is the career that God has prepared and called me to. Please allow me to tell you why.
Coming into college as a freshman, I was forced to make the decision of whether I was going to keep the faith that I had grown up with or abandon it for the free and wild living style that I saw so many others doing. I ended up getting involved in an organization called Campus Crusade for Christ where I met students at conferences and retreats that were free to do what they wanted yet chose to pursue and follow Christ. It was amazing for me to see as a freshman in college because the Christian lifestyle was always something that I felt somewhat forced into. As a result of this great community, I began to take my faith much more seriously and grew a ton in walk with the Lord. It was through Cru that I began to be discipled, got involved in bible studies with other students, and was taught to share my faith for the first time.
Because of the change that Campus Crusade made in life, I began to wonder if this was something that I would want to do as a career. The more that I prayed and considered the possibility; the more I began to feel called to the ministry. I feel that the Lord has given me a testimony that can be used to reach others for Christ who grew up in a similar situation as I did and I want to do just that. Last March I applied to be a missionary with Campus Crusade for Christ and was accepted in April. I will begin my assignment this coming fall in Columbia, Missouri.
Campus Crusade for Christ was founded by Bill and Vonette Bright in 1951 on the UCLA campus. The mission is still the same today: to reach every student and every campus. Our goal is that everyone would know someone who is truly following Christ so that the gospel is within arms reach of every student on campus. The model that we use to help us reach that goal is called win – build – send. We want to first win students to the Lord by sharing with them and helping them trust Christ for the first time. We want to build them up in their faith through Bible Studies, discipleship, conferences, mission trips, and retreats. Finally, our goal is that every student that walks through our ministry would be 100% sent. We want every single one of them to be missionaries in their engineering firms, doctor’s offices, and classrooms.
Here is the need. Because Cru is a non-profit organization there are no central funds to pay for ministry expenses and the salaries of the missionaries that are hired, so the ministry really depends on the prayer and financial support of people who are passionate about seeing lives transformed on the college campus. In order for me to be a missionary with Cru, I need to raise a support team of people who will give financially on a monthly basis to support and partner with me in ministry. My total support that I have to raise is $2597 per month which not only goes to paying my salary but aslo for ministry expenses within the organization as well as over-sees missions. As you can see, that is a lot. As of today I am at 36% of my support and I am required to be at 100% by August 8th. I am trusting the Lord raise the rest of my support by then and I want you to be a part of it.
In order to join my support team you can visit give.ccci.org. There you will be able to create a login and will be able to donate by either typing in my name or my staff # (647393.) There are several options for giving (direct deposit, credit/debit, monthly check).
